Consent Form for Under 16

For Parents and Legal Guardians Only. This page explains our consent requirements for child accounts. Consent is collected interactively within the app during registration. This page is a reference for the information covered during that process.

Why Consent Is Required

EcoleUp is an educational application designed for learners of all ages, including children under 16. Applicable laws — including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — require us to obtain verifiable parental or guardian consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under 16.

No child account is activated until a parent or legal guardian has completed the consent process.

What You Are Consenting To

By providing consent, the parent or legal guardian agrees that EcoleUp may:

• Create and maintain a learning account in the child's name (using a display name, not necessarily the child's full legal name)

• Collect the child's learning activity data, including lessons completed, exercise results, and progress milestones

• Store the child's account data securely on our servers

• Send progress reports and important service communications to the parent's or guardian's registered email address

• Use anonymous, aggregated data (with all personal identifiers removed) to improve the educational content and platform

What We Will Not Do

Regardless of consent, EcoleUp commits that it will never:

• Display targeted or behavioral advertisements to children

• Sell, rent, or share the child's personal information with third parties for commercial purposes

• Collect more information than is necessary to provide the educational service

• Require the child to disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in any activity

• Use the child's data to build a behavioral profile for any purpose other than personalized learning

Information Collected About Your Child

The following information may be collected from or about your child:

• Display name — chosen by the parent or child; does not need to be the child's real name

• Age range — used to select age-appropriate content (e.g., under 8, 8–12, 13–15)

• Learning activity data — which lessons were attempted, scores, time spent, and progress badges

• Device information — device type and OS version for technical support purposes only

We do not collect the child's full legal name, home address, phone number, photographs, precise GPS location, or social media information.

Your Rights as a Parent or Guardian

At any time, you have the right to:

• Review the personal information we have collected about your child

• Correct any inaccurate information in the child's account

• Delete your child's account and all associated personal data

• Withdraw consent — doing so will deactivate the child's account and stop all further data collection

• Refuse to allow further collection or use of your child's information

To exercise any of these rights, email us at ecoleup2@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity to protect your child's data.

Withdrawing Consent

Important: If your child is using the app without your knowledge and without prior consent, contact us immediately at ecoleup2@gmail.com so we can delete the account and associated data promptly.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by:

• Sending a deletion request to ecoleup2@gmail.com from your registered email address, or

• Using the Delete Account option in the app's account settings

Upon withdrawal, the child's personal data will be deleted within 30 days. Anonymized learning statistics may be retained in aggregated form with no link to the child's identity.

How Consent Is Verified

During in-app registration for a child account, we use the following verification steps:

• The parent or guardian provides their own email address (separate from the child's display name)

• A verification email is sent to the parent's address; the account is not activated until the link in that email is clicked

• The parent or guardian must confirm they have read and agree to this Parental Consent notice, the Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service

Third-Party Services

EcoleUp uses limited third-party service providers, such as cloud hosting and crash-reporting tools, to operate the platform. Any provider that may process children's data is contractually required to:

• Use the data only to provide services to EcoleUp

• Comply with COPPA and applicable data protection laws

• Not retain, use, or disclose children's data for any other purpose

Data Security

We protect your child's data using industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted storage, and strict internal access controls. In the event of a data breach affecting children's personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
